We are thrilled to announce the introduction of Exercise Physiology Group Classes, specifically designed for individuals who are at a high risk of developing, or with existing acute, chronic and complex medical conditions, injuries and disabilities.
Our 8-week program is suitable for people who may be overweight and/or obese, have chronic back, hip and knee pain, and are living with or at risk of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, osteoporosis and any other conditions.
Individuals living with diabetes will be able to join the program gap-free through Beat It – Physical Activity and Lifestyle Program. Beat It is a fully funded program for people with, and at risk of, diabetes. Diabetes NSW & ACT developed this program to support people living with diabetes in becoming more active in their lifestyles, to improve their overall health, diabetes management, and have greater control over their condition.
All clients who hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) gold card (and eligible white card holders) could be eligible for ongoing Group Classes, led by our Exercise Physiologist, and will be bulk billed for exercise physiology services. Please contact your GP for the correct referral for this service.
Diabetes is Australia’s fastest growing health condition with around 280 Australians developing diabetes every day, that’s one person every 5 minutes! Of those diagnosed with Diabetes 85-90 percent of cases are Type 2.
Level Up is a lifestyle management program designed and run by Accredited Exercise Physiologists for those living with Diabetes. The program endeavours to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to manage their condition via lifestyle strategies surrounding exercise and diet. The program will facilitate community inclusion and promote discussions about individual experiences when managing Diabetes. The Level Up program is designed for those motivated to take control over their health and wellbeing and wish to take their knowledge and skills to the next level.
