What Is Beat It?

Beat It is an 8-week exercise and lifestyle program for people living with — or at risk of — type 2 diabetes. It combines supervised exercise with practical education so you can:

  • Improve blood glucose control
  • Build strength and confidence in movement
  • Reduce the impact of diabetes on everyday life
  • Take control of long-term health, not just symptoms

Beat It is fully funded by Diabetes NSW & ACT, which means eligible participants can join gap-free.

What Is Included In The Program?

✅ 2 supervised group exercise sessions per week (8 weeks)
✅ Led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist
✅ Safe, tailored strength + cardio training
✅ Education on diabetes, activity, nutrition & lifestyle
✅ Supportive small-group environment
✅ No out-of-pocket costs for eligible participants

What Is Level Up?

Level Up is our ongoing diabetes exercise program for people who want to keep progressing after Beat Itor start training with expert support start straight away — no Beat It participation required.

Led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Level Up helps you:

  • Stay active and accountable long-term
  • Improve strength, balance and cardiovascular health
  • Maintain healthy blood glucose levels with structured exercise
  • Train in a group, but at your own level and pace
  • Turn diabetes-management into a confident, active lifestyle

You can join Level Up directly or move into it after Beat It — with or without referral.
